Derek Wolfe taken off in ambulance with cervical spine injury
Broncos defensive lineman Derek Wolfe was taken off the field in an ambulance with a cervical spine injury on Saturday night.
One of the sights you never want to see on a football field is an ambulance. Unfortunately we saw that on Saturday night when Derek Wolfe was taken off the field in Seattle after a nasty-looking injury.
Fortunately Wolfe, who suffered a cervical spine injury, appears to be doing about as well as possible.
Broncos DE Derek Wolfe is being evaluated for a cervical spine injury. He has movement in all of his extremities.— Denver Broncos (@DenverBroncos) August 18, 2013
Wolfe was cut low on a block and doubled up around the head when Michael Robinson landed on his helmet. Head injuries are, as always, the most concerning injuries.
It's huge news that Wolfe has movement in "all of his extremities."
Wolfe was a beast for the Broncos last year, starting 16 games as a rookie and accumulating six sacks as well as two pass deflections.
As always his health is far more important than anything related to football.
