Despite ties to Cutler, McCoy a candidate for Bears' coaching job

The Bears have requested an interview with Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy, who has a brief history with Jay Cutler

McCoy is one of the hottest coordinators available and is expected to interview for multiple jobs, sources said. He was sought after last year, and Chicago was first to reach out to him Monday.

McCoy was on Josh McDaniels' staff in Denver when Cutler was there and, sources said, Cutler requested a trade three times in the January in which that new staff arrived in Denver. Cutler was irate that his coach, Jeremy Bates, was let go (Bates has since resurfaced with Cutler in Chicago), and though he did spend some time working on a new offense with McCoy and that staff in Denver, he was ultimately dealt to Chicago.

It's a potentially interesting dynamic as the process unfolds.
