Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie carted off with high ankle sprain
Broncos cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was carted off from training camp with an apparent left leg injury. The Broncos said it's a high ankle sprain.
The Broncos haven't been having a great run lately, either with potential suspensions (Von Miller) or major injuries (center Dan Koppen most notably). And they might have taken another hit Wednesday with cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie being carted off the field after suffering what appears to be a leg injury.
According to Lindsay Jones of USA Today, the cornerback "put no weight on [his] left leg as he was helped off the field." Mike Klis of the Denver Post noted it was either a left leg or left ankle injury.
The team received good news later on in the day as it's just a high-ankle sprain for DRC, and John Fox says he expects the cornerback to return in two to three weeks.
""He's done it before, so I'm not overly [concerned]," Fox said. "But anytime you miss time, I'm concerned."

DRC was signed to a two-year contract this offseason after struggling for two years with the Eagles (following the ultimate lose-lose trade for Kevin Kolb that got everyone involved fired). Though Rodgers Cromartie is, as Klis notes, the second-highest paid player on the Broncos defense, he's was also a pretty good value for Denver.
With Harris and Champ, Denver's still got plenty of talent in the secondary; there's a reason why our Pete Prisco had them No. 1 in his latest preseason power rankings. But Rodgers-Cromartie suffering any sort of major injury would be a big blow to a Denver defense that's had a pretty rough offseason.
