Well that was something, huh? With the conference championship games in the books, we're down to the Broncos and the Seahawks, who will meet in two weeks in East Rutherford, N.J. in Super Bowl XLVIII. These past four months have flown by.
But we intend to savor the final fortnight, starting with the latest Eye on Football Podcast, where we recap the Broncos' dominating performance over a Patriots team that couldn't overcome the latest injury (Aqib Talib) in a season full of them, and Tom Brady struggled all afternoon to find his wide-open receivers deep down the field. Meanwhile, Peyton Manning was clinical, looking every bit like the NFL's best player, something that will come in handy when he faces the NFL's best defense two Sunday's from now.
In the NFC final, the Seahawks mounted a furious second-half comeback, forced 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick into three turnovers, including a game-clinching interception that had everything to do with Richard Sherman's blanket coverage on Michael Crabtree.
So who do we like in the Big Game?
Early predictions: Will Brinson is leaning towards Peyton & Co. while we remained convinced that the Seahawks' D might be too much for even the league's most explosive offense -- with one caveat: Assuming it's cold and windy on Super Bowl Sunday. Put another way: Our conviction is about as reliable as the weather.
