More NFL offseason: Mock Drafts | Prospect Rankings | Pro Days | Top free agents

The first day of NFL free agency was a whirlwind, and it started promptly at 4 p.m. ET. Big names found new homes for substantial pay increases, and the inevitable "Team X (that was truly awful last year) has now positioned itself to make a legit playoff run!" commentary followed, even if no one believed it.

The the blurred lines between truth and fiction don't make the whole spectacle any less interesting.

And it's why we fired up the Offseason Podcasting Machine to talk about it -- everything from Aqib Talib's huge contract with the Broncos, the Cowboys dumping DeMarcus Ware, the Browns adding big-named veterans on defense, to trying to figure out what the hell the Raiders were doing.

We also look at the NFC South, where the Saints landed Jairus Byrd and still need to re-up Jimmy Graham, the Falcons went about upgrading their offensive line and committing to a 3-4 defensive front, and the Bucs signed a pass rusher (Michael Johnson), Cover-2 cornerback (Alterraun Verner) all while trying to dump Darrelle Revis and his $16 million-a-year contract.

We cover all this and more, so listen in the audio player above, subscribe on iTunesretweet liberally, and be sure to tell a friend.
