There was some uncertainty about the Atlanta Falcons running back hierarchy coming into the season, but after rookie Tevin Coleman carried 20 times to second-year man Devonta Freeman's 10 in Week 1, things were a little more clear. Coleman looked like the far more decisive runner, planting his foot in the ground and doing good work in new offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan's zone scheme.
Coleman got nine first half carries in Week 2, but on the ninth carry, he was hit by Giants corner Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie at the line of scrimmage and injured his ribs. He was carted off and is considered questionable to return to the game.

Coleman, who had scored his first career touchdown earlier in the day, now has 29 carries for 112 yards in just over five quarters of NFL action. Freeman will presumably take over the role as the lead back for as long as Coleman's out.
