Giants punter Steve Weatherford not hurt in serious car crash

Veteran was returning from the birth of his child to attend team OTAs on Monday.

New York Giants punter Steve Weatherford was involved in an early morning car crash on the New Jersey Turnpike Monday, but walked away without suffering any serious injuries, according to the New York Post.

Weatherford, who was returning to New Jersey from California after the birth of his daughter, wrote on an Instagram post about the incident that he was re-routed to Washington, DC, and forced to drive back in order to make it for Monday's OTA session. He hit a patch of water on the road and hydroplaned into a median, totalling his rental car.

"My rental car is totaled and I walked out without a scratch," he wrote. "I am feeling so incredibly blessed."
