Hakeem Nicks, Justin Tuck will play Sunday against Colts
Hakeem Nicks and Justin Tuck will both suit up for the Giants on Sunday against the Colts.
The Giants looked pretty sharp during the first week of preseason against the Steelers. They're hoping they'll look even sharper on Sunday against the Colts thanks to the return of Hakeem Nicks and Justin Tuck.
Tom Coughlin said Friday that the two stars would play in Week 2 of the preseason -- a prime time game no less -- when they welcome Indianapolis to New York.
Nicks has been banged up the entire offseason, having knee surgery in February and missed last week because of a groin injury. He's got plenty of motivation to get back on the field, with the Giants having paid Victor Cruz a hefty contract this offseason and Nicks facing a payday next.
The emergence of Damontre Moore (or possible emergence of Moore anyway) helps take away any sting from missing Tuck in Week 1 because of a back injury and might help create a pretty nice rotation between the rookie, the veteran and the anchor of that line in Jason Pierre-Paul.
JPP's gotta get back on the field too, though. Coughlin said he was "encouraged" by Pierre-Paul's status, but the season is closing in on the Giants and a number of their top-end players aren't entirely a guarantee to be ready for the start of the season.
Seeing Nicks and Tuck on the field and ready to roll would go a long way towards easing New York nerves.
