Jerry Jones: Cowboys are 'glitz and glamour of the NFL'

It makes sense that an NFL owner who has previously rapped about pizza, made a cameo on Entourage and generally loves mugging for cameras would describe his team like this.

"We’re the glitz and the glamour of the NFL. We want to kick [our opponents’] you know what with glitz and glamour.”

In case you're just out of a 20-year coma or new to our planet, those words are courtesy of Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones, the same man who once conceded that while his team hasn't made the playoffs since 2009 they remain "the most popular TV show there is on television."

Jones made the "giltz and glamour" comments Monday at AT&T Stadium while announcing the Cowboys' new partnership with Swiss watchmaker Hublot. According to the Dallas Morning News, coach Jason Garrett, wide receiver Dez Bryant, running back DeMarco Murray, tight end Jason Witten and left tackle Tyron Smith "modeled the luxury timepieces" during Jones' remarks.

“The Cowboys are into trying to associate with the very finest in terms of other areas of disciplines,” Jones said. “As much as we love the sport, as much as we love the contact, as much as we love to want to win a Super Bowl, we also appreciate the association with a great company or a great idea or a great product. That’s what this commitment is all about.”

In related news: the Cowboys haven't had a winning season in four years.
