Joe Flacco: Johnny Manziel's 'quickly becoming my favorite player'
Joe Flacco said that all the criticism of Johnny Manziel is turning the Texas A&M quarterback into his 'favorite player.'
The general reaction to Johnny Manziel these days, now that he's gone full heel, is pretty vitrolic. Things are ramping up even more after he snubbed his coach on the sidelines and did all kinds of delightfully obnoxious celebrations Saturday.
But not everyone dislikes the Aggies quarterback. Noted receiver of criticism and Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco says that he's really starting to love Manziel now that everyone hates the Texas A&M quarterback.
"Being hated is not a bad thing ... I don’t know if I’ll be too popular after [saying] this: I [didn’t] know how I really felt about Johnny Manziel," Flacco told Jim Corbett of USA Today. "But I feel like now that everybody hates him, he’s quickly becoming my favorite player in college football."
I'm 100 percent with Team Flacco on this topic. The reaction to Manziel is utterly ridiculous at this point.
There's no question that Manziel's might be making some questionable decisions these days, but acting like he's some kind of hardened criminal or completely rotten apple is asinine.
But, hey, at least it's making Manziel some new fans.
