Kevin Kolb says 'not to ever question my toughness,' calls Tommy Kelly 'clueless'

In the middle of Friday night's Cardinals - Raiders game, Tommy Kelly sacked Kevin Kolb for a safety and came running to the sideline screaming "That boy's scared!" Kelly then proceeded to pile on after the game, calling Kolb "skittish" when asked about the comments.

As you might imagine, the Cardinals quarterback didn't appreciate Kelly's sentiments and, when asked about the comments by Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com, said he's "never been afraid" and called Kelly "clueless."

"Scared? Scared of what?” Kolb told Urban. "Taking a hit? I have never been afraid of anyone on the field and that will never change. That includes Number 93 [Kelly]. There’s a fine line between holding in the pocket and trying to escape to make a play. Tommy Kelly is too clueless to know the difference.

"I don’t mind people criticizing my play. Don’t ever question my toughness."

Kolb's actually got a good point here. It's not that he's scared, it's that he's making bad decisions while playing football.

Those are two entirely different things. Unfortunately for Kolb, he hasn't done a fantastic job walking the fine line that is making decisions in the pocket and as a result, his stats are those of a quarterback who doesn't look like he should be starting in the NFL.

Although I'm sure the Cards wouldn't mind if Kelly's comments somehow inspire Kolb to show up in the Week 4 preseason game and look like the guy they thought they were trading for before 2011.
