Lions release Taylor Mays

The Lions released safety Taylor Mays on Friday, Mays' agent confirmed, per NFL.com.

Mays is a six-year veteran who has played for several teams. "You know, it's just kind of one of those things where everybody's got to perform. He gave it his best," coach Jim Caldwell said.
