The Buccaneers' 26-20 loss to the Cowboys on Sunday ended up being a rough night for Jameis Winston.

Not only did the Tampa Bay quarterback throw three interceptions in the game, but at one point, he got so frustrated that he actually headbutted a Cowboys player.

The headbutt came at pivotal time in the game and it might have cost the Buccaneers four points. Winston's frustrations started after he handed the ball off to Doug Martin on a first-and-goal play from the Cowboys' 8-yard line.

On the play, Martin was tackled for a 5-yard loss. Winston thought Cowboys linebacker Justin Durant gave Martin a late hit, so he responded by attempting a headbutt.

Here's what the play looked like when it happened.

Although the headbutt was subtle, it didn't go unnoticed by the officiating crew. Winston was hit with unnecessary roughness penalty that cost the Buccaneers 15-yards. When you combine the penalty with Martin's 5-yard loss, the Bucs went from first-and-goal at the 8 -- and a potential touchdown -- to second-and-goal at the 28.

On the drive, the Tampa Bay ended up settling for a 34-yard field goal from Roberto Aguayo.

After the game, Winston explained why he lost his cool and headbutted Durant.

"Just fighting for my teammate, man,'' Winston said, via TampaBay.com. "Doug, he runs hard for us all the time. The guy threw him to the ground late. I'm out there competing. Passion versus emotion. I can't do that. It hurt us.''

Although Winston finished the game with 247 passing yards and two touchdowns, he did make several mistakes. Besides the headbutt, he threw three interceptions and lost a fumble. The Bucs quarterback was also sacked four times, which probably didn't help with his frustrations.
