As it turns out, it looks like there's at least one upside to being suspended if you're Tom Brady: You can take your wife on a weekend trip to Europe.
Since Brady wasn't playing football over the weekend, he had some spare time -- so he decided to spend it by flying to Italy with Gisele. According to TMZ the two flew to the island of Capri in Italy over the weekend, which isn't exactly an easy trip. It involves a roughly eight-hour flight, and then you have to ferry over to Capri, although if you have enough money you could probably take a helicopter.
Once on the island, the two turned the third week of Brady's suspension into a date night.
Tom's face almost seems to say, "I hope Belichick doesn't find out I'm in Italy."
Anyway, the couple seems to be enjoying their rare in-season vacation, and Gisele even shared a picture of it on Instagram.
Brady has managed to stay pretty busy during his suspension. During the first week of his ban, Brady spent some time with his family and, possibly more importantly, he watched the Red Zone Channel for the first time.
During the second week of his suspension Brady flew to Ann Arbor, where he served as an honorary captain before the Wolverines' win over Colorado.
Brady followed up his Michigan trip with this past weekend's trip to Italy.
Hopefully Brady enjoyed the trip to Europe, because that's going be his last vacation before his suspension ends. The Patriots quarterback is eligible to return to the team next Monday (Oct. 3), and that's probably not a moment too soon for Bill Belichick.
The Patriots' quarterback situation is a total mess right now, with Jacoby Brissett and Jimmy Garoppolo both dealing with injuries. Bill Belichick is probably counting down the minutes until Brady gets back.
That being said, I won't be surprised at all if the Patriots and their "total mess" of a QB situation beat the Bills on Sunday.
