Miami U. offers to help Washington Redskins with name change
If the Washington Redskins need help with a name change, one university has offered a hand.
The Washington Redskins' trademark is once again going through the trademark office's judiciary system. News of such current events set Twitter abuzz with possible name changes and a variety of reasonable sports takes.
There was also the below communication from Miami University, and those familiar with the school's history know that sporting teams from the Southwest Ohio pillar of education were once called Redskins.
In 1997, though, the school changed its name to RedHawks.
And now it's offering to lend a hand to the pro team from Washington.
Something tells me Washington RedHawks is about as likely as say, Washington Reagans.
Grover Norquist wants to rename them the Washington Reagans, and manages to be super sexist about it. http://t.co/Z1KzkX3ajD— Jesse Taylor (@jesseltaylor) June 18, 2014
