NFL Coaching Rumor Roundup: Browns have interest in Dan Quinn

Black Monday in the NFL is here and the firings have begun. We'll be tracking all of the NFL coaching changes at our tracker here but we'll keep pace with the flurry of rumors below as well.

5:31 p.m. ET
Along with the Browns, the Vikings also have asked Seattle for permission to interview defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
5:27 p.m. ET
Add another name to the Buccaneers wish list. That would be former Texans coach Gary Kubiak, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
4:21 p.m. ET
If Lovie Smith is to be hired -- and the Buccaneers are a possibility -- he'll want to bring along former Cal coach Jeff Tedford as his offensive coordinator, according to the National Football Post
3:12 p.m. ET
General manager Rick Spielman wants to find his new coach as soon as he can. He said Monday he'd like somebody in place by the Senior Bowl -- which occurs Jan. 25.
3:08 p.m. ET
It sounds like we won't know the fate of Titans coach Mike Munchak for a few days. He said he'll meet with his general  manager and owner later in the week.
2:31 p.m. ET
Here's one thing to consider if you were planning to go after the Redskins job. General manager Bruce Allen said Monday that he -- and not the next coach -- will have the final say on roster and personnel decisions.

We have a reported candidate in Cleveland.'s Ian Rapoport reports the Browns have lined up to go after Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn.
2:12 p.m. ET
President Tom Lewan said the Lions also informed Scott Linehan he would be relieved of his duties as offensive coordinator with Detroit.
2 p.m. ET
Giants owner John Mara said the team wants Tom Coughlin back and Coughlin says he wants to come back. Needless to say he's returning.
1:58 p.m. ET
Not that you weren't already expecting this, but Kyle Shanahan's been relieved of his duties by the Redskins as well. Obviously.

Joe Banner ruled out candidates who interviewed for the Browns job last year, meaning Ken Whisenhunt and Bill O'Brien don't look like candidates for the job.

Rob Chudzinski issued a statement saying he was "shocked and disappointed" to learn of his firing.
11:42 a.m. 
The Lions fired Jim Schwartz, CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora reports. No word yet on GM Martin Mayhew but he's going to be at the press conference Monday afternoon. So it sounds like he'll be keeping his job.
11:20 a.m.
The Buccaneers fired both head coach Greg Schiano and GM Mark Dominik on Monday after a four-win season.
10:10 a.m.
Jay Glazer of Fox Sports believes Jason Garrett is "safe" in Dallas but Monte Kiffin "will be gone." No big surprise given the defensive struggles from Kiffin's unit and Rob Ryan's success.
10:08 a.m.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, both Jack Del Rio (DC) and Adam Gase (OC) of the Broncos are on the Vikings radar.
9:41 a.m.
The Redskins have officially fired Mike Shanahan, as everyone expected.
9:35 a.m.'s Bruce Feldman hears the Vikings want to hire "a college guy" but doesn't think there's a good chance that it happens.
9:30 a.m.
Alex Marvez of Fox Sports reports the Texans assistant coaches have been told to seek other opportunities while the team looks for a new head coach. Doesn't bode well for Wade Phillips.
9:01 a.m.
The Vikings announced on Monday morning that Leslie Frazier was fired as the head coach. This was an expected move after a five-win season for Frazier, who was 21-32-1 in just over three seasons. 
Rob Chudzinski was fired after less than a single calendar year by the Browns on Sunday afternoon.
