On Black Monday, there were six NFL head-coaching vacancies. On New Year's Eve, the Texans reportedly hired Penn State coach Bill O'Brien, and on Wednesday, the Buccaneers made Lovie Smith their man. That leaves the Lions, Browns, Vikings and Redskins jobs still up for grabs (and the Raiders and Titans could make coaching changes in the coming days).

Below are today's coaching rumors:

Another candidate to emerge for the vacant Washington job is former Colts head coach Jim Caldwell, currently the Ravens offensive coordinator, according to the Baltimore Sun. Caldwell also reportedly is expected to interview for the Lions head coaching job.

Now that Lovie Smith has been hired as head coach, we turn to the coordinators he has interest in hiring. According to reports, Smith wants to hire Cowboys defensive line coach Rod Marinelli, formerly Smith's defensive coordinator in Chicago, as his coordinator in Tampa Bay. But if Marinelli can't get out of his contract in Dallas, Smith reportedly will hire just-fired Vikings coach Leslie Frazier as his defensive coordinator.

With the Patriots in a bye week, the Browns reportedly will interview New England offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels this weekend, according to ESPN. McDaniels is seen by some as a favorite to land the Browns job.
