NFL DFS: Best Preseason Week 2 DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy football picks for Monday, August 19, 2019
SportsLine's Mike McClure, a DFS pro with almost $2M in winnings, gives optimal lineup advice.
An exhibition version of Monday Night Football wraps up Week 2 of the 2019 NFL preseason as the San Francisco 49ers travel to take on the Denver Broncos at 8 p.m. ET. The return of San Francisco quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who missed almost all of 2018 with a torn ACL, is a big storyline. But from an NFL DFS standpoint, Garoppolo will likely play just a few series, at most, so daily Fantasy players will have dig deep on the depth chart to find the players who will see the most action on Monday. Before entering any kind of single-game NFL DFS tournament for 49ers vs. Broncos on a site such as FanDuel or DraftKings, first be sure to see the optimal NFL DFS lineups from Mike McClure. He's won almost $2 million in his career as a DFS pro and his top picks and advice can help you make all the right calls for this preseason Monday Night Football matchup.
McClure uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every snap of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account. This allows him to find the best values and create optimal NFL DFS lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They're a must-see for any NFL DFS player.
McClure rolled through the 2018 NFL season, cashing in the top 5 percent of tournaments on FanDuel and DraftKings multiple times. His optimal lineups cashed as high as the top 0.1 percent on FanDuel and as high as the top 1 percent on DraftKings. He's made some spot-on selections in the 2019 NFL preseason thus far as well, rostering 49ers receiver Jalen Hurd on both sites in Week 1. The result: Hurd exploded with two touchdowns and was one of the highest-scoring wide receivers of the weekend. Anyone who has followed McClure's picks has seen some huge returns. Now, he's turned his attention to Broncos vs. 49ers in Week 2 of the NFL preseason.
For Monday's action in Week 2, one of McClure's NFL DFS top picks is 49ers quarterback Nick Mullens. The third-year pro out of Southern Mississippi turned heads during the 2018 regular season when he put up some eye-popping numbers for San Francisco as he helped fill in for the injured Garoppolo. He threw for 414 yards and two touchdowns against the Seahawks on Dec. 2 and 332 yards and two more TDs against the Broncos on Dec. 9.
He's competing with C.J. Beathard for the backup role this season and Mullens has seen plenty of preseason action thus far, completing 11 of 17 passes for 105 yards a touchdown. Look for him to get several series on Monday, giving him big upside for NFL DFS players.
Part of McClure's optimal NFL DFS strategy includes rostering Broncos running back Khalfani Muhammad. Preseason NFL DFS is all about finding players who are getting opportunities, and Muhammad has 16 touches in the preseason and scored a touchdown in the Hall of Fame Game. And with Theo Riddick (shoulder) ruled out, Muhammad is in line to potentially see double-digit touches on Monday.
McClure is also targeting a player who could go off for massive numbers Monday because of a dream matchup. This pick could be the difference between winning your tournaments and cash games or going home with nothing.
So who is DFS pro Mike McClure putting in his optimal NFL DFS lineups for Monday in Week 2 of the NFL preseason? Visit SportsLine now to see the full optimal tournament lineups from a professional DFS player who has almost $2 million in career winnings, and find out.
