NFL DFS: Top Preseason Week 2 DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy football picks for Sunday, August 18, 2019

Four teams with 2020 Super Bowl aspirations take the field on Sunday in Week 2 of the 2019 NFL preseason as the Saints and Chargers meet at 4 p.m. ET, followed by the Seahawks and Vikings at 8 p.m. ET. Players such as Drew Brees, Philip Rivers, Alvin Kamara, Adam Thielen and Russell Wilson will see limited, if any, action. That means NFL DFS players will need to go deep down the depth charts and evaluate rookies and other backups you might not be thinking about to find value picks at every position. And before locking in any NFL DFS picks of your own for NFL preseason action on Sunday on a site such as FanDuel or DraftKings, first be sure to check in with Mike McClure. His optimal NFL DFS lineups and advice can help you make all the right calls on this two-game slate.

McClure uses a powerful prediction model that simulates every snap of every game 10,000 times, taking factors like matchups, statistical trends and injuries into account. This allows him to find the best values and create optimal NFL DFS lineups that he shares only over at SportsLine. They're a must-see for any NFL DFS player.

McClure rolled through the 2018 NFL season, cashing in the top 5 percent of tournaments on FanDuel and DraftKings multiple times. His optimal lineups cashed as high as the top 0.1 percent on FanDuel and as high as the top 1 percent on DraftKings. He's made some spot-on selections in the 2019 NFL preseason thus far as well, rostering 49ers receiver Jalen Hurd on both sites in Week 1. The result: Hurd exploded with two touchdowns and was one of the highest-scoring wide receivers of the weekend. Anyone who has followed McClure's picks has seen some huge returns. Now, he's turned his attention to Sunday's NFL preseason games.

For Sunday's action in Week 2, where every player on FanDuel is $6,000 and every player on DraftKings is $5,500, one of McClure's NFL DFS top picks is Chargers quarterback Easton Stick. Stick, a fifth-round pick out of North Dakota State, won 49 games as a starter in college and he looked poised in his NFL preseason debut last week, leading Los Angeles with a 7 of 11 performance for 78 yards passing and 51 yards and a touchdown rushing.

Part of McClure's optimal NFL DFS strategy for Sunday includes rostering Vikings running back Mike Boone, who was one of the top performers in Week 1 with 70 yards and a touchdown. Boone saw limited action (11 carries, 47 yards) in the 2018 regular season, and he's trying to make his case to be with Minnesota this year in a crowded backfield that includes Dalvin Cook, Ameer Abdullah and Alexander Mattison. Boone should get plenty of opportunities against a Seattle defense that is expected to hold out Bobby Wagner (leg), Ezekiel Ansah (groin) and others.

McClure is also targeting a player who could go off for massive numbers Sunday because of a dream matchup. This pick could be the difference between winning your tournaments and cash games or going home with nothing.
