NFL fines ref Tony Corrente one game check for foul language
The NFL announced it fined referee Tony Corrente one game check for foul language during the Dolphins-Colts game.
It drew plenty of criticism as it was captured on the Internet forever. And because swear words on national television are typically a pretty big no-no, Corrente was also fined a single game check, the NFL announced Friday.
Carl Johnson of the NFL said that such conduct "is inappropriate for a game official."
Corrente also had to apologize to the Colts for his language and, presumably, will learn to keep his hand on the microphone button in the near future.
On the bright side, at least he didn't do anything as ridiculous as cost the Packers a win and perhaps a playoff berth, right?
