NFL 'Noles: Edwards Jr. slowly coming back
Oakland Raiders defensive end Mario Edwards Jr. is eligible to return from injured reserve, but appears to be a ways off when it comes to returning to action.
Oakland Raiders defensive end Mario Edwards Jr. is eligible to return to practice today. He has been on injured reserve since the season started due to a hip injury suffered during the first game of the preseason.
While he is eligible to get back on the field, it appears as though he is still a ways off from returning to action.
“I hope that he can begin running on the side,” Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio said Monday at his weekly news conference. “He hasn’t done that yet, so we think he’ll begin to run on the side this week and we’ll bring him into practice as soon as he’s cleared.”
In order for Edwards Jr. to return to the field against the Denver Broncos on Nov. 6th, he would have to return to practice by this Saturday.
