Broncos CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie injures shoulder on first half Hail Mary
The first half of the Broncos game in New England had a rough ended to it for Denver cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. On the final play of the half, Patriots quarterback Tom Brady tried to throw a Hail Mary into the end zone from the Broncos 42-yard line, but the pass fell short. Rodgers-Cromartie dove for the ball, trying to intercept it, but instead, he landed awkwardly and injured his shoulder. The Broncos originally announced DRC was 'probable' to return to the game, but he was later downgraded to 'out.' The Broncos defense fell apart in Rodgers-Cromartie's absence. The Broncos led 24-0 with DRC on the field, but have been outscored 28-0 in the second half with him off the field.
Browns QB Jason Campbell suffers concussion
Jason Campbell started the game for the Browns on Sunday, but he didn't finish it thanks to a hit by Steelers cornerback William Gay. Gay blindsided Campbell with a hit in the third quarter, a hit that caused Campbell to leave the game. Campbell laid on the ground for several minutes before making his way to the bench. A short time later, he was taken to the locker room in a cart where he was eventually diagnosed with a concussion. Brandon Weeden finished the game for Cleveland and threw for 209 yards in a 27-11 loss to the Steelers. If Campbell can't go next week against Jacksonville, the Browns may workout a few quarterbacks.
The Chiefs defense wasn't at full strength in the second half against the Chargers on Sunday and it showed: San Diego scored 31 points in the final two quarters to beat Kansas City 41-38. The Chiefs played the second half without linebackers Tamba Hali and Justin Houston. Hali injured his ankle on the first play of the second quarter and didn't return. Houston injured his elbow just before halftime and didn't return to the game. After the game, Chiefs coach Andy Reid said that both player will undergo an MRI on Monday.
Antonio Cromartie injured his hip on a non-contact play in the second half against the Ravens. "It wasn't an impact injury at all," Cromartie said, via NJ.com. "Something I just planted wrong, and it gave out on me a little bit." Cromartie said the injury was the worst his hip has felt since he fractured it in 2008. It's not clear yet if the injury will keep Cromartie out for any extended period of time.
Tampa Bay was able to upset the Lions on Sunday despite the fact that cornerback Darrelle Revis didn't play in the second half. Revis injured his groin in the first half and didn't return to the game.
Chargers RB Ryan Mathews injures hamstring
Ryan Mathews ran for 55 yards and a touchdown in the Chargers 41-38 win over the Chiefs and he did all of the just two and a half quarters of action. Mathews left the game in the third quarter with a hamstring injury and didn't return.
The Bears defense couldn't stop Rams running back Zac Stacy, but an apparent concussion did. Stacy was examined for concussion-like symptoms during the Rams 42-21 win over Chicago and didn't play in the second half. In only two quarters of action, Stacy carried the ball 12 times for 87 yards and a touchdown.
Morris Claiborne's return to the Dallas lineup didn't last long. After missing the past two games with a hamstring injury, Claiborne re-injured the hamstring in the second half against the Giants and didn't play the rest of the game. The Cowboys play on Thanksgiving this week, which might not be enough time for Claiborne properly rehab the hamstring.
