Nick Barnett's April Fool's Day joke: Pretending Bills re-signed him
Nick Barnett's April Fool's Day joke was pretending the Bills re-signed him. HILARIOUS!
Nick Barnett is currently a man without a job. Although it didn't seem that way for about an hour on Monday morning.
The free-agent linebacker tweeted shortly after 8 a.m. ET on Monday that he'd been re-signed by the Bills.
Great morning!! Great to be a Buffalo Bill again wanna thank all those who never lost faith in me!! Thanks Buddy Nix #billsmafia— NickBarnett (@NickBarnett) April 1, 2013
One problem. Today is April Fool's Day. And Barnett was getting his LOL on.
Even thou I would love to be apart of the Bills organization this has been a April fools joke! Thanks for being good sports #billsmafia— NickBarnett (@NickBarnett) April 1, 2013
HA. HA. HA. How. Hilarious. And by "hilarious," I mean "the reason why April Fool's Day is the worst day in the universe."
All things considered, though, this is a pretty good joke. It's also a really AGGRESSIVE joke: if Buddy Nix was on Twitter, you'd have to think that he wouldn't find this very amusing. He'll probably hear about it, though -- at least one member of the Bills fell for the joke, with running back Fred Jackson congratulating Barnett.
Monday should be a super-fun day for rumors and speculation, huh? Make sure to double check your sources everyone.
