Panthers WR Brenton Bersin obliterates Bills LB IK Enemkpali
A week ago, few NFL fans knew the name IK Enemkpali, but that all changed the moment he punched Geno Smith in the face and broke his jaw. On Friday night, Enemkpali was on the receiving end of another hit.
A week ago, few NFL fans knew the name IK Enemkpali, but that all changed the moment he punched Geno Smith in the face and broke his jaw. An already weird story got weirder when the Jets dumped Enemkpali only to have the Bills -- coached by former Jets coach Rex Ryan -- claim the linebacker on waivers.
Enemkpali played in the Bills' preseason opener against the Panthers on Friday, and a quick glance at the boxscore indicates that he had two tackles and assisted on another. Hardly earth-shattering stuff. Like, say, this block Panthers wide receiver Brenton Bersin laid on an unsuspecting Enemkpali late in the second quarter.
Tale of the tape: Enemkpali is listed at 6-1, 261 pounds while Bersin comes in at 6-3, 210 pounds (which seems generous).
Either way, football is physical, as both Smith and Enemkpali can attest.
