Patriots' Stevan Ridley out for Week 5; Gronk, Amendola questionable
Patriots running back Stevan Ridley won't be playing on Sunday against the Bengals. The statuses of Danny Amendola and Rob Gronkowski are still up in the air, both are listed as questionable.
Running back Stevan Ridley has been officially ruled out for Sunday's game in Cincinnati. Ridley hasn't practiced all week due to a knee injury. However, it's unclear when Ridley actually suffered the injury. Ridley played all four quarters in New England's Week 4 win over Atlanta.
The 24-year-old running back, who's never missed a game in his three-year career, finished the win over the Falcons with a season-high 53-yards rushing.
Ridley's injury should mean more carries for LeGarrette Blount, who might be the only completely healthy running back on the field for New England on Sunday. Running backs Leon Washington (thigh) and Brandon Bolden (knee) are both listed as questionable.
The Patriots wide receivers are banged up too. Danny Amendola (groin), Kenbrell Thompkins (shoulder), Matthew Slater (wrist) and Aaron Dobson (neck) are all listed as questionable, meaning New England feels each player has a 50 percent chance of playing.
Of course, there's also tight end Rob Gronkowski. For the third straight week, Gronkowski (back/forearm) is listed as questionable. Gronkowski said earlier this week that he's on the same page as the Patriots as far as his rehab and return go, but what page that is and when he's going to return is still unclear.
