Prisco's NFL Week 8 predictions: Bengals, Pats, Chiefs, Eagles, Bears are best bets

Baby steps.

That's what I took last week when I actually had a 3-2 week and avoided some bad beats for the first time in a long time. I actually feel like I am gaining some momentum as we head to November.

The 3-2 week gives me a 15-20 overall record as part of Team Oddshark in the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook contest. Not good, but there is a lot of football left. I am ready to get it in gear. I smell a 4-1 or 5-0 week.

I hope.

Now for my best bets:

Bengals minus 3: This game is in London, so that's always tough to gauge. But I think the Bengals found the running game last week against the Browns and that will carry over here. Andy Dalton has played well this season, and does so here against his former offensive coordinator, Jay Gruden.

Patriots minus 6 ½: The Bills got the Patriots in Week 3 when Tom Brady was suspended. He's back. And he's lit up Rex Ryan-coached defenses in his career. He is 12-4 against Ryan. Make it 13-4. This will be ugly.

Tom Brady and the Pats will surely be motivated against the Bills. USATSI

Chiefs minus 2 ½: The Chiefs have won two straight and have looked good doing so. The Colts looked good last week winning at Tennessee behind Andrew Luck. This time, I don't think he can bail out his team. The Chiefs run it right through the Colts to a victory.

Eagles plus 4 ½: The Eagles defense got gashed by Washington's run game last time on the road. That won't happen here. They will force Dak Prescott to beat them and load up to stop the Dallas run game. Dallas wins. Eagles cover.

Bears plus 6: The Vikings are the better team, but they have offensive line issues and the Bears have improved their pass rush. With Jay Cutler back, the Bears will keep it close and maybe pull off the upset.
