Raiders WR Andre Holmes suspended for PED violation
Raiders wide receiver Andre Holmes has been suspended for the first four games of the 2013 regular season after violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances.
Oakland Raiders wide receiver Andre Holmes has been suspended for the first four games of the 2013 season after violating the NFL policy on performance-enhancing substances, the league announced on Saturday.
Holmes might not be a Raider by the time that suspension starts. The third-year receiver was claimed off waivers by Oakland in May and a four-game suspension certainly isn't going to help his chances of making the team.
The 25-year-old spent parts of the past two seasons in Dallas after signing with Cowboys midway through the 2011 season. Holmes saw action in seven games last year, catching two passes for 11 yards.
Holmes is eligible to play in preseason games with the Raiders and practice with the team until the preseason's over.
