RB David Wilson apologizes for insulting Giants fans

David Wilson's 2013 season got off to a rough start. The second-year Giants running back fumbled twice in a loss to the Cowboys, was yanked from the game by coach Tom Coughlin, and spent the ensuing 48 hours hearing about it on Twitter. Which goes a long way in explaining why he lashed out, telling "fantasy participants and pissed Giants fans [sic] ur irrelevant to me!!!"

This didn't go over well and by Wednesday Wilson was clarifying his remarks.

“I saw people might have been getting the wrong impression of me so I tried to clear it up,” Wilson said via the Newark Star-Ledger. “Like I said all we got is the guys in the locker room and all our supporters. So, when we go out on the field we want to make our supporters happy.”

He added: “Bad choice of words, 140 characters you can make a lot of mistakes.”

Of course, no apology is official until it has been tweeted. So here ya go, fantasy football nerds and self-righteous Giants fans.

If Wilson really wants to make people forget about Week 1, he needs to have a huge game Sunday against the Broncos (we refuse to refer to it as the Manning Bowl).

In case you're wondering, we like the Giants to win, although seven of nine CBSSports.com experts are riding the Broncos bandwagon into MetLife Stadium.
