The Cowboys took a hit on both sides of the ball in the first half against Washington on Sunday. Running back DeMarco Murray was taken to the locker room in the first half of the Cowboys 31-16 win with a sprained left knee and didn't return.
Dallas also lost defensive end DeMarcus Ware, who left the game in the second quarter. Ware injured his right quad and was taken to the Cowboys locker room for further evaluation. After the game, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett said that Ware had suffered a quad strain, but Garrett didn't say how serious the injury was.
Murray's injury was diagnosed as an MCL sprain and he'll undergo an MRI on Monday to determine the severity of the injury.
Murray's night got off to a strong start before he left the game with his knee injury. Murray scored the Cowboys first offensive touchdown and totaled 29 yards on seven carries before being injured. The 25-year-old running back has been dealing with injuries almost since his first day in Dallas. Murray's missed a total of nine games since being taken 71st overall by the Cowboys in the 2011 NFL Draft.
