Redskins CB DeAngelo Hall unimpressed by Giants QB Eli Manning's TD pass; Manning responds
After throwing a game-winning TD, Giants QB Eli Manning said he had an idea what the Redskins' defense would do based on how they played in the two-minute drill at the end of the first half. Washington CB DeAngelo Hall remembered things differently when he was apprised of Manning's remarks.

Late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Giants, Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Santana Moss to give Washington a 23-20 lead. New York had 87 seconds to answer. Turns out, the Giants needed just four. Eli Manning hit Victor Cruz on a 77-yard pitch and catch, and that was that.
Afterward, Manning said he had an idea what the Redskins defense would do based on how it played in the two-minute drill at the end of the first half. Washington cornerback DeAngelo Hall remembered things differently when he was apprised of Manning's remarks.
“For him to say that in the first half he picked up on it and to not make a play until the last play of the game? I don’t know how well he picked up on it," Hall said according to the Washington Examiner's John Keim.
"Ultimately, he did because he made the play to beat us. But I don’t feel like he made that play. I feel we gave him that play. We just had one guy set his feet and one guy not do this. I could have thrown that ball, and he would have scored. It wasn’t something where he was a rocket scientist and he figured something out. We just played that as bad as possible.”
Predictably, Manning was asked about Hall's recollection of events.
"I appreciate him giving it to me," he said via the Newark Star-Ledger's Jenny Vrentas. "Thank you."
Manning added: "I didn't think it took a rocket scientist to figure it out, either. We had a guy running open, and we hit him."
Plus, we don't know any rocket scientists who can make that throw.
Giants defensive end Justin Tuck made a plea to other opponents looking to be generous this holiday season.
"For all you guys out there listening, if you play us, if you feel like you want to give us something, I will take some sacks," he said. "I am sure Eli will take more 70-yard touchdown passes, Coach Coughlin will take a couple more wins to separate himself from Coach Parcells -- there are all types of things."
