Redskins clinch No. 2 overall pick in 2014 NFL Draft ... for the Rams

We all knew it was coming these last few weeks but it's brutally painful to actually have the Redskins securing the No. 2 overall pick for another team become real thing

It is real, though. By virtue of the Texans loss on Sunday to the Titans, Houston secured the No. 1 overall pick with a 2-14 record

The Redskins are the NFL's only 3-win team in 2013 and that locks them into the No. 2 overall seed.

That selection, as part of the trade that sent Robert Griffin III to the Rams, will be sent to St. Louis.

When the Redskins made that sort of trade, no one involved -- or anyone watching -- ever imagined that it would backfire this badly.

In the span of a single season, RG3's gone from the Offensive Rookie of the Year to a guy being deactivated over the final three games of the season.

RG3 and Shahanan clashed in the media throughout the year and now the Redskins will finish last in the NFC East once again.

This time it's even more painful as the chance to add another superstar to the roster at the top of the draft will be used by a different team.
