The Cincinnati Bengals have agreed to a deal with kicker Mike Nugent, according to the team's official site. Nugent was due to become an unrestricted free agent Tuesday, and the report states that the team will make an announcement of the signing Monday.

Nugent went on injured reserve late last season with a right calf issue, and Josh Brown was solid as his replacement. There was speculation that perhaps Brown would hold onto the job and Cincinnati would let Nugent go, but the team apparently decided otherwise.

In Nugent's absence, Brown was 11 of 12 on field goals and was named December's AFC special teams player of the month.

Prior to his injury in 2012, Nugent was 19 of 23 on field goals with a long of 55 yards and he made all 35 of his extra-point attempts. He also kicked 21 touchbacks in 65 kickoffs.

For his career, Nugent has made 146 of 180 field goals in seven seasons with the Jets, Buccaneers and Bengals.
