Tavai (6-foot-2, 249 lbs) entered the NFL in 2015 as an undrafted free agent, signed by the Tennessee Titans. He appeared in three games, making three tackles and a sack.
He was released by Tennessee last month as part of final cuts.
Tavai, who attended USC, logged 130 career tackles, 24 tackles for loss, and 10.5 sacks as a 20-game collegiate starter.
Considering the Broncos' depth at linebacker, and the impending return of DeMarcus Ware, Tavai's visit could be merely be a case of due diligence.
