Browns offensive coordinator Kyle Shanhan is on the 49ers list of coaching candidates, a source told The Plain Dealer. The 49ers are in the market for a new coach after announcing Sunday they mutually agreed to part ways with coach Jim Harbaugh.

Shanahan, who is the son of former NFL coach Mike Shanahan, has held the role of offensive coordinator with the Texans, Redskins and Browns. He has been coaching in the NFL since 2004.

In his first season as the Browns offensive coordinator, Cleveland ranked 23rd in total offense (324.6 yards per game) and 27th in scoring offense (18.7 points per game).
