Report: Bucs have called 'dozen' teams about Josh Freeman trade
According to a report the Buccaneers have called almost a 'dozen' teams about trading for Josh Freeman.
The Josh Freeman saga in Tampa Bay hit an all-new low on Monday when reports of Freeman being in the league's substance abuse program surfaced, only to have Freeman lash out in response with a statement saying he has ADHD (and therefore is in the program but not for bad reasons).
It's gotten ugly and the Buccaneers have to get rid of him; as you'll recall CBS Sports NFL Insider Jason La Canfora first reported Freeman would seek a trade. They're trying to do just that on Tuesday, having reportedly called almost a "dozen" teams with the intent to call every team in the league by the end of Tuesday.

Trading Freeman is problematic for the Bucs.
They need a team who wants a quarterback and is willing to pick up $6-plus million of his salary in 2013. Freeman is a free agent after this year so whoever deals for him is basically renting him. You've got to have a need at quarterback then too.
And the Bucs have to be willing to accept back basically, well, whatever at this point. Last week Freeman's value was probably something along the lines of a fifth-rounder at best. At this point it's hard to imagine them getting anything more than a seventh-round pick for Freeman.
It's also impossible to imagine Freeman and Greg Schiano co-existing on the same team much longer. Something has to give at this point.
