Chris Johnson's time is running short with the Titans, although it may have been extended a little thanks to your standard travel delays.

Not that it matters, as the running back will be released on Friday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Johnson tweeted Thursday night he's "on my way" to Nashville but was stuck traveling.

Word on the street is Johnson will meet with Titans GM Ruston Webster once he gets to Nashville. And then, shortly after that, the Titans are likely to release him.

Everyone's seen this coming for a while and Johnson's agent Joel Segal admitted his client is basically done with Tennessee at this point and knows it.

The question is really when Johnson will be released. He'll almost certainly get released (assuming he's not traded) before offseason activities for the Titans begin on April 7.

Which makes Friday a pretty solid day for Johnson's release. Stay tuned.
