This comes as a surprise to many because it looked as if the Packers were going to sign Cook to two or three-year deal worth around $3.5 million per season. And with the way Cook finished the 2016 season, it was almost a shoe-in for the Packers to re-sign him.
The Packers signed Cook to a one-year, $2.75 million contract last year. He did not have a productive regular season due to an ankle injury he suffered early in the season, which kept him out of action for six weeks. However, Cook was a major key in the Packers' success in the playoffs as he recorded 18 receptions for 229 yards and two touchdowns.
