Report: Cowboys have interest in QB Brandon Weeden
Former Browns quarterback Brandon Weeden might not be out of work for long.
Just because the Browns determined that they have no more use for quarterback Brandon Weeden -- the guy they picked in the first round of the 2012 draft -- that doesn't mean somebody wouldn't want to give him a shot.
What make this interesting is that, as you probably know, Dallas is well-stocked with a starting quarterback (his name is Tony Romo) and a backup (his name is Kyle Orton). Though the team hasn't carried a third quarterback since 2011 when it was Romo, Jon Kitna and Stephen McGee, the website opines that it's possible that the team could decide to carry three if the Weeden signing works out.
As for what Weeden, who's ranked No. 175 on the CBSSports.com free agent list, might want?
“I want to play football,” Weeden said last month. “I don't care. I just want to play football and be at a place where it's enjoyable and we can compete and win games. That's really what it's all about.”
There is a chance Orton could retire, though. But if Orton doesn't and Weeden does sign, it seems the chances of Weeden actually playing aren't all that good.
Which probably leaves Weeden feeling like this.
