Report: Cowboys sign No. 16 overall pick, G Zack Martin
The Cowboys reportedly have signed their first-round draft pick, Zack Martin.
Although the crowd at Radio City Music Hall last month was primed and ready for the Cowboys to take quarterback Johnny Manziel with the No. 16 overall pick, Dallas instead acted in its own best interests and selected Notre Dame guard Zack Martin.
On Monday, the team reportedly signed him to his four-year deal, according to ESPN Dallas, and it will pay him $8.967 million, which includes a $4.842 million signing bonus. The team, of course, holds a fifth-year option on him.
When the pick was announced, you could count CBSSports.com's Pete Prisco as a fan of the selection.
Martin a good pick for a team that needed OL help. They didn't get caught up in the hype. OL will be damn good. B+ http://t.co/KPxAyHqyNs— Pete Prisco (@PriscoCBS) May 9, 2014
