Report: Dolphins could lose Reshad Jones for season

The Dolphins may have some bad news a day after their thrilling victory over Pittsburgh.

Starting safety Reshad Jones may have torn his rotator cuff and could miss the remainder of the season, according to a new report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.

Jones is currently undergoing tests to judge the seriousness of the injury.

His absence would be a crushing blow for a defense that has excelled largely from his own contribution. A versatile player in the Dolphins’ otherwise poorly performing secondary, he is responsible for 51 tackles, second on the team behind only linebacker Kiko Alonso (55), and recorded his first interception of the season on Sunday.

The news of this injury is a complete surprise, as Jones gave no impression of being hurt during the game.
