Report: Eddie Lacy to miss several weeks due to ankle injury

Eddie Lacy will not be playing in game on Thursday or any game in the near future.

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, Lacy will miss several weeks due to his injured ankle. He originally suffered the injury in the Packers home game against the New York Giants on Oct. 9 and left the game early. However, Lacy did play in the game on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys and registered 65 yards on 17 carries.

Rapoport also reported that Lacy will travel to North Carolina to seek a second opinion from Dr. Robert Anderson.

The Packers running back position has been hit hard with injures this season. Along with Lacy, James Starks is out with an knee injury. And before the season began, the Packers No. 3 running back John Crockett suffered a season-ending shoulder injury.

This has led to the Packers trading their seventh-round 2018 draft pick to the Kansas City Chiefs to Knile Davis. In 2014, Davis rushed for 463 yards and six touchdowns. He also returned a kick for a touchdown the same year.

The Packers are also considering signing Don Jackson from the practice quad to the active roster according to head coach Mike McCarthy.
