Despite a crazy active free agency market, there hasn't been a ton of chatter about Michael Vick's next landing spot. The Raiders and Jets have been prominently mentioned, and the Jets should get more in focus with Vick reportedly visiting them over the weekend.

Eliott Shorr of reports that Vick will be visiting with the Jets and that while it's his "first official visit, it could be his last if all goes well."

The issue with the Jets is the presence of Geno Smith on the depth chart. Smith was drafted in the second round by John Idzik during the GM's first draft with the Jets. There's some inherent investment there.

Vick wants to be a starting quarterback. At age 33, there aren't many chances left for him to get a hold of a starting job. The Raiders would probably represent an immediate opportunity to start.

But the Jets would likely give him an open competition with Smith too. And Vick could certainly elevate the offense.

He has familiarity with Marty Mornhinweg's system as well, making it a logical fit. Now the Jets just have to sell him on sticking around past the weekend.
