Pregame warmup injuries aren't exactly common, but they happen. And they're obviously a nightmare when they do, especially when a kicker's involved. That was the case with Robbie Gould and the Bears on Sunday.
Gould, the Bears announced, suffered a strained left calf while kicking.

Thus far, Gould's absence might be irrelevant: Field goals aren't going to get the Bears back from a 14-0 deficit to the Vikings following Jay Cutler doing Jay Cutler things (bad interceptions) and Adrian Peterson doing Adrian Peterson things (destroying everything in his path.
Still, Gould's absence could make things difficult for an offense that isn't afraid to struggle at times, anyway. The Bears will need to adjust their decision-making on the fly in order to set themselves up for the maximum point-scoring chances, which likely won't involve Gould attempting any lengthy kicks.
