Skins fans unhappy with Rep. Cantor (R-VA) pro-Russell Wilson tweet

In the annals of tweets from public officials that should've never been sent, House Majority leader Eric Cantor's social-media ineptitude doesn't rank particularly high. Still, a day after the Redskins' season ended with rookie phenom Robert Griffin III laying on his back on the FedEx Field turf, no one's in a very forgiving mood.

Which explains the lack of patience with this tweet from Cantor (R-VA):

Cantor, whose congressional district includes Richmond, Va., attended Collegiate High School (also in Richmond), as did Seahawks rookie quarterback Russell Wilson. Needless to say, some Redskins fans, constituents -- and even some Republicans -- were unimpressed.

Actually, it was Wilson -- not Richard Sherman (he had his own issues Sunday night) -- though we don't guess the specifics much matter here. Just the fact that Cantor sent the tweet is reason enough for the outrage.

It wasn't all negative, however. At one of the most divisive times in recent political history, Cantor garnered the support of someone outside the Republican party (fine print: who just so happened to be a Seahawks fan):
