Super Bowl 51: President Obama predicts a Seahawks-Patriots rematch
Maybe this time the Seahawks won't throw the ball at the 1-yard line

If there's one thing we can all agree on about the 2016 NFL season, it's that the league is lacking a dominant team.
The Patriots' offense is unstoppable, but they can't generate a pass rush on the other side of the ball. The Seahawks' defense is dominant, but their offense is lacking firepower. The Vikings' defense might be better than Seattle's, but their offensive line is on pace to get Sam Bradford killed by Week 17. The list continues.
President Obama agrees, but that doesn't mean he shied away from making his Super Bowl pick.
"Super Bowl is tougher (to pick). But I got to say at this point, you'd have to put your money on Brady again," Obama told SiriusXM Radio, per NFL.com. "I don't see any real strong teams. Seattle and (the) Patriots have a rematch, that's my call."
Maybe this time the Seahawks will run the ball at the 1-yard line.
Seriously, though, I'm on board with the pick. As previously noted, they're both flawed, but their strengths are also overpowering. With Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, and Martellus Bennett leading the way, the Patriots have averaged more than 30 points per game since Brady returned from his Deflategate suspension. Meanwhile, the Seahawks' defense ranks third in DVOA and is tied for the league lead in points allowed per game.
Obama's reasoning also makes sense: Never bet against Brady, who's already leading the NFL in pretty much every important passing statistic.
It's worth noting that since Obama took office in 2009, eight different teams have won the Super Bowl. The Seahawks and Patriots are two of those teams.
