Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is playing in his first Super Bowl and is pulling out all the stops for his pregame attire. Ahead of the biggest NFL game of his life, Super Bowl LVI, OBJ wore $200,000 cleats.
The cleats have a six-figure price tag because as you probably guessed, they are no ordinary pair of kicks. These cleats feature diamonds and were made custom for the wide receiver.
The cleats were made in Los Angeles by Dominic Ciambrone who goes by "The Shoe Surgeon," who also made cleats for Rams' Cooper Kupp, Jalen Ramsey and Von Miller.
Here is a closer look at "the most expensive cleat ever" on OBJ:
The cleats have 1,494 round brilliant white diamonds on the Nike logo on the side of the shoe.
This all came to be after Dominic collaborated with Ramsey for cleats of his own for the playoffs.
Dominic told TMZ:
"I was making cleats for Jalen and a few other guys. But this year Jalen hit me ... game one of the playoffs and then Odell hit me ... We just knew we were going to work together. And it just happened to be on the biggest stage for the sport."
Usually these cleats would take 3-5 months, but Dominic's team worked around the clock to ensure OBJ could walk onto the SoFi field wearing them on Sunday, Dominic said, adding that it took over 100 hours to work on the shoes.
As far as who Dominic is rooting for, he is all in on the rams.
"You already know that answer, man. The Rams are gonna win," he said. "I'm not into sports like that, but if my friends win, it's a win for me."
The Rams are playing a home Super Bowl, the second year in a row a team has played at home for the big game. The Rams are taking on the AFC Champion Cincinnati Bengals.
