The Houston Texans and Indianapolis Colts are each coming off heartbreaking losses that have them sitting at 1-4 in the AFC South. Houston squandered a 13-point lead last week to the Patriots, falling on a last-second field goal. Indianapolis then proceeded to lose on Monday Night Football to the Ravens despite leading by 19 points late in the first half. These AFC South rivals will meet on Sunday as each side tries to not fall too far behind division leader Tennessee (3-2).
Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The Colts are 10.5-point favorites in the latest Texans vs. Colts odds according to Caesars Sportsbook. The over-under for total points scored is 44, which is among the lowest in Week 6. Week 6 NFL picks for Colts vs. Texans
Before you tune in to Sunday's Texans vs. Colts game, you need to see the NFL picks from SportsLine's advanced computer model. The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, is up almost $7,900 for $100 players on top-rated NFL picks since its inception six-plus years ago. It went a sizzling 24-14 on top-rated NFL picks last season, returning more than $800. The model also enters Week 6 of the 2021 season on an incredible 125-83 run on top-rated NFL picks that dates back to the 2017 season.
The model also ranked in the top 10 on NFLPickWatch four of the past five years on straight-up NFL picks and beat more than 94 percent of CBS Sports Football Pick'em players four times during that span. Anyone who has followed it is way up.
For Colts vs. Texans, the model is backing the over to hit in nearly 60 percent of simulations. Both teams may have identical 1-4 records, but they also have the same over-under records of 3-2.
Texans QB Davis Mills has made great strides in his rookie year and set a record last week vs. the New England. Mills' 141.7 passer rating was the highest ever for a rookie QB versus a Bill Belichick coached Patriots team. Meanwhile, his counterpart is also coming off a game for the ages as Carson Wentz set career-highs in passing yards (402), passer rating (128.5) and yards per attempt (11.5) against the Ravens.
With the quarterbacks rolling and both teams bringing defenses in the bottom 10 of points allowed to Sunday's matchup, the number of 44 is expected to be surpassed with ease. Indianapolis is expected to contribute the most to the over hitting, but Houston has been more competitive than what most expected. SportsLine's model has the Texans hitting their points per game average while Indy sets a season-high in points. As a result, the model has the over (44) hitting in almost 60 percent of simulations.
