There is no more idiotic NFL offseason trope than wondering whether Quarterback X is ELITE. It reached peak foolishness following the Ravens' Super Bowl victory a few years back, when the world screamed for three months about Joe Flacco.
It's still something that bothers people in Maryland, apparently. Because Estately put together a list of the most commonly Googled questions for each state in America, and one of the top items for Maryland was "Is Joe Flacco elite?"
People in Maryland also wondered "Did O.J. do it?," "Who unfollowed me?" and "Who runs the world?"
It's a pretty funny read because of certain combinations, like this trio of questions many folks in Mississippi were Googling:
- Who is Prince?
- Is Prince dead?
- Who killed Tupac?
Or this from Kentucky:
- What are jorts?
- How to pass a drug test?
- What is catfishing?
- How to make a baby?
There are a few more sports-related items for certain states as well, but it's a relatively low number compared to how much time people actually spend worrying about sports. (Maybe they're all just flooding the sleek CBS Sports app for their news instead.)
Texas wanted to know: "Where is Johnny Manziel?" Just bookmark TMZ.com, Texas.
North Dakota wondered "When is the NFL Draft?" -- presumably because the entire state deeply cares about Carson Wentz and where he would end up going.
Next up: "Why do people throw batteries?"
