Tomlinson: Some Jets players 'starting not to trust' Mark Sanchez
According to LaDainian Tomlinson, some Jets players are "starting not to trust" quarterback Mark Sanchez.
"Well [Sanchez's] almost at the end of his rope," Tomlinson said Sunday (via NFL.com). "Talking to guys in this locker room, they're starting not to trust Sanchez as a football player. Turning the football over, inconsistent play."
Tomlinson played for the Jets in 2011 and called the end-of-season drama "as bad as I've been around." But despite Tomlinson's belief that Sanchez is becoming an internal issue for the Jets, he think the quarterback will get "two or three more starts."
"And here's the thing, they have to get better play from the quarterback position," Tomlinson said. "Rex Ryan has said it over and over again, but I think they're going to give Sanchez two or three more starts to try to turn this team around, and then they're going to go with Tim Tebow."
It's quite plausible that Ryan will wait to yank Sanchez out as starter. Once he goes Tebow, it's hard to imagine him going back, regardless of the outcome. But if Sanchez has a disastrous start against the Colts on Sunday, it may become too much for him both externally and internally to keep rolling Sanchez out as the starter going forward.
