Vikings release Faciane, sign Roberson to practice squad

Out with old and in with the...old?

Nearly a week following his arrest for DWI, Minnesota Vikings practice squad player Isame Faciane has been released by the team, according to reports.

It was a predictable outcome for the offensive lineman, who Mike Zimmer had strong words for a day ago, calling his decision "stupid" and calling in to question his spot on the team. Zimmer also lamented the negative image it brought to the organization, saying he had done much to rid the Vikings of off the field incidents.

Faciane's release left a vacancy on the practice squad, which was immediately filled when the Vikings re-signed cornerback Tre Roberson. It will be Roberson's third stint on the practice squad this season and his fourth stint with the Vikings after being signed as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois State, where he played quarterback.
